Meet Indigo

Indigo's story is one A & K Animal Rescue will never forget.

She came to us from a situation that left us with many unanswered questions. When we first met Indigo, she was scared, guarded, and unsure if she could trust anyone. She was underweight, struggled with pain in her back leg, and had a mysterious scar with no clear explanation.

More than anything, Indigo needed patience. Step by step and moment by moment, she began to trust. A treat. A gentle hand. A little more space. Slowly, a connection began to form.

Other dogs, including Hopi Hope, showed Indigo kindness. A & K gave her consistency, and eventually, Indigo chose to believe she was safe. Today, Indigo is part of the A & K family. She runs free, healed and full of life, across 200 acres.

The same dog who once growled in fear now runs in freedom.

Indigo learned to trust, and she finally found home.
