Meet Joy

Joy was found on the side of one of the busiest two lane highways in Kern County with her two tiny daughters, Avery and Anna. Semi trucks and cars rushed past as the little family wandered dangerously close to the road. Every passing vehicle was another close call.

A kind woman stopped her car and desperately tried to rescue the frightened family before they ran into traffic. Just then, one of the A & K dads happened to be driving home from work. Seeing what was happening, he immediately pulled over to help.

Together, they safely rescued Joy and her puppies. The woman learned about A & K Animal Rescue and trusted that this little family would receive the care they needed before finding loving homes.

Once Joy knew her daughters were safe, she began to relax. She was finally able to rest, knowing Avery and Anna no longer had to fight to survive.

One act of kindness changed the future for an entire family.
