Meet Lumpy

Lumpy came to A & K Animal Rescue with nine brothers and sisters through our local shelter's foster program after losing their mama.

The shelter gave these little ones a chance, but newborn puppies require around the clock bottle feedings, constant care, and a quiet place to grow. With so many animals depending on them every day, the shelter knew these puppies would have the best chance in a foster home.

That's where A & K stepped in.

For several weeks, Lumpy and the litter were bottle fed, kept warm, and surrounded by the love and care they needed to grow into healthy, playful puppies. Once Lumpy was old enough and strong enough, it was time to return to the shelter, where the journey toward a forever family could begin.

Sometimes the greatest gift a rescue can give is simply being a safe place to grow.

Lumpy was given the chance to become someone's best friend.
