Stavie’s journey started at our dad’s ranch headquarters, where he showed up out of nowhere. He was skittish, impossible to catch, and totally independent—until he realized the workers were feeding him. Then, he never left.

For a while, he made the ranch his home, but for safety reasons, he couldn’t stay. Someone even suggested he be eliminated, which broke our dad’s heart. As soon as A & K heard about it, we knew we had to step in.

We set safe traps, and after a long game of patience and strategy—we captured Stavie! But the rescue was just the beginning.

At first, he didn’t get along with our dogs at all. He was nervous, defensive, and not ready to be part of a family. So, he spent some time in our half-acre integration pen, a special space where new rescues can adjust before fully joining the pack.

Trust took time. It took months for Stavie to feel safe, to warm up to us, and to befriend the other dogs. But he did. And when the time came to find him a forever home, we knew—no one would be as patient with him as we had been.

So, Stavie stayed. ❤️

Now, he is officially part of the A & K family, living out his days safe, loved, and exactly where he belongs.
