Wolverine came into our lives alongside his friend Pixie. We met them at PetSmart and learned that they were there through our local animal shelter. A representative explained that this was one of their last opportunities to find homes. If they returned to the shelter without being adopted, they were at risk of being placed on the euthanasia list.

We knew we couldn't leave them behind.

Our local shelters work incredibly hard, but there are simply more animals coming through their doors than there are homes available. When we have the ability to help, we want to be part of the solution.

So Wolverine and Pixie came home with A & K Animal Rescue.

Eventually, a family friend fell in love with both of them and decided they belonged together. Pixie and Wolverine were adopted as a pair and headed off to start their new life.

But Wolverine got one more surprise.

His new family decided to give him a new name. They renamed him Kosta, after our very own Kosta, which made his adoption even more special to us.

We still get updates on Kosta and Pixie, and both of them are happy, healthy, and very loved.

Wolverine came to us needing a second chance. He left with his best friend, a forever family, and a brand-new name.

We couldn't have asked for a better ending.
